Meatod

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 16 July 2026  ·  Applies to orders placed on meatod.com and the Meatod app

1.Who we are

In short: your contract is with Meatod.

Meatod is operated by Meatod Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13774414, with its registered office at Unit 09, 1st Floor, 124 Whitechapel Road, London, England, E1 1JE ("Meatod", "we", "us", "our").

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply every time you browse, order from, or otherwise use meatod.com or the Meatod app (together, the "Service"). By placing an order you confirm that you accept these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

2.The Meatod service

In short: you order and pay through Meatod; trusted partner butchers prepare and deliver your order.

Meatod is an online service for ordering fresh halal meat. When you place an order:

3.Your account

In short: keep your details accurate — deliveries go to the address you give us.

4.Orders and acceptance

In short: your order is accepted when we confirm it. There's a £25 minimum spend. If we ever can't fulfil it, you get a full refund.

5.Prices and payment

In short: you pay in full at checkout. Obvious pricing errors don't bind us.

6.Changing or cancelling an order

In short: free changes and cancellation before the daily cut-off. After cut-off, your order is being cut fresh for you and cannot be cancelled for change of mind.

Before the cut-off. Meatod operates on a same-day model: orders placed before 8am are cut fresh and delivered the same day (see section 7). You may amend or cancel your order free of charge, for a full refund, at any time before this 8am cut-off. Contact us at contact@meatod.com with your order ID.

After the cut-off. Once 8am passes, your order is sent to our partner butcher, payment is committed on your behalf, and your meat is cut fresh specifically for your order. For this reason, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded for change of mind after the cut-off.

Your legal position. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the standard 14-day "cooling-off" cancellation right does not apply to goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. Fresh meat falls within this exemption. This does not affect your rights if something is wrong with your order — see section 10.

7.Delivery policy

In short: we deliver to the address you give us. If you're not in, we leave your order in a safe place at your door — and it counts as delivered.

8.Our products

In short: everything is cut fresh, so small natural variations are normal and are not defects.

9.Storage after delivery

In short: refrigerate your order promptly — after delivery, correct storage is your responsibility.

Fresh meat is perishable. You must refrigerate or freeze your order promptly after delivery (including safe-place delivery). Every package is marked "Keep refrigerated". We are not responsible for deterioration caused by the goods being left out, stored incorrectly, or collected late after a safe-place delivery.

10.Refunds and problems with an order

In short: if something is genuinely wrong, we'll put it right — report it within 2 hours with photos. Change of mind, taste preference, and claims without evidence are not covered.

10.1 Your statutory rights. If an item is faulty, not fresh on arrival, not as described, or missing, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in this section removes or reduces those rights.

10.2 How to make a claim. Because fresh meat deteriorates quickly, prompt reporting is essential for any claim to be assessed fairly. To make a claim you must:

Photographic evidence is a mandatory part of our claims process for perishable goods. Claims submitted without photographs, or reported more than 2 hours after delivery, may be declined, except where your statutory rights require otherwise.

10.3 How claims are handled. Every claim is reviewed manually, normally within 24 hours of submission. We may contact you for further information. Where a claim is upheld, we will offer a replacement, a credit, or a refund as appropriate to the issue. Approved refunds are made to your original payment method and typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

10.4 What is not covered. The following are not defects and are not eligible for a refund:

10.5 Fair use of the claims process. We investigate every claim in good faith and expect the same in return. We may decline claims, require additional evidence, and/or suspend accounts where we reasonably suspect false, exaggerated, or repeated unsubstantiated claims. We reserve the right to report suspected fraud to our payment providers and relevant authorities. This paragraph does not affect your statutory rights in respect of genuine claims.

11.Promotional codes

In short: promo codes have rules — eligibility, minimum spend, and validity days apply.

12.Reviews and content you submit

In short: reviews must be honest and yours; we can display them.

13.Acceptable use

In short: use the Service honestly and lawfully.

You must not use the Service to commit fraud, interfere with its operation or security, scrape or copy its content for commercial purposes, or resell products purchased through it without our written consent. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of this section.

14.Our liability

In short: we're responsible for what the law says we're responsible for — and our liability for an order is capped at what you paid for it.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to the paragraph above: we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable to both of us when the contract was formed, losses not caused by our breach, or business losses (the Service is for consumers). Our total liability to you in connection with any order is limited to the total amount you paid for that order.

15.Changes to these terms

In short: the version live when you order is the version that applies.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Service at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when these Terms were last changed.

16.Governing law

In short: English law applies.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute — except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. This clause does not restrict your statutory rights.
